Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin entrances children of all ages. Follow the happy, singing cat as he wears his favorite shirt with four buttons. Unfortunately, he loses his buttons one by one and recounts them. This is a great book for reinforcing number order.
Sounds like a great book that will really engage kid's number sense!
