Fairy Trails, a fairytale with Spanish flair, is written by Susan Middleton Elya and illustrated by Mercedes McDonald. In this story, Miguel and Maria are going to visit their aunt, but on the way, they meet characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes, dodging the wolf from Red Riding Hood, the witch from Hansel and Gretel, and other unsavory characters. Told in English with Spanish peppered throughout, children in kindergarten through third grade can learn Spanish words through context clues and explanations in the text.
