A Story A Story

For years, stories of Ananse (sometimes portrayed as a man and sometimes as a spider), known for his trickery, have been popular. In A Story A Story, retold and illustrated by Gail E. Haley, Ananse is up to his usual tricks. This time he is after a box that contains every story. This box is kept by the sky god, who sends him on errands to collect items in exchange for the book of stories. Will he be able to complete the task? This charming story is perfect for teaching the richness of folklore and vocabulary to children in the first through third grades.
